In this presentation we present our CANHUB-K3 reference platform capable of running PX4 on a high safety integrity level ready MCU. We present the functional safety features that the S32K3 includes such as a lockstep core, ECC Memories, advanced watchdog (with the Safety FS26 System Basis Chip) and fault collection monitoring. The CANHUB-K3 reference platform is a versatile platform to explore different applications with S32K3 family such as High integrity FMU, Safety controller, CAN & Ethernet gateway and motor control. We want to particularly highlight what the S32K3 brings in as High Integrity FMU by showing PX4 running on the platform with a demonstration of the S32K3 safety features. Furthermore we want to introduce the concept of a safety executive where the high integrity part monitors the system and introduces fault tolerance in case of a failure of the main Flight Management Unit (FMU).
